Welcome to the Restaurant Julivert Meu. Since 1970 the Julivert Meu has become the classic meeting point of different generations of customers who have come to this Restaurant to enjoy the traditional Catalan cuisine.

La Báscula de la Cerería C/  dels Flassaders, 30,  08002 - Barcelona

La Báscula de la Cerería is a quite hidden restaurant that is located in a Barcelona district called El Born. It is a very popular venue for those Barcelona locals who have began to seriously take into account the vegetarian culture.
It is in fact a large space -it was a former chocolate factory - whose decorative details show some reused objects such as, cutlery, old doors used as tables and many other objects from a distant past. We found the same spirit in the gastronomy dishes they prepare, market products labeled as "bio", but presented in very inspired recipes. Well presented and well cooked food; so, we can enjoy an excellent gazpacho for 4 €; eggplant bread for 8.5 €; spinach cannelloni for 8.5 €;  curry couscous, 8.5 €; and all the home-made desserts.

La Vinateria del Call, C/ Sant Doménec del Call, 9 08002 - Barcelona 

La Vinateria del Call is a gourmet tavern located in the historic streets of the old Jewish quarter of Barcelona, in which the best traditional tapas are dished out and shared in large portions.

The high quality of their specialties, its carefully selected selection of cured meats and cheeses, as well as its magnificent desserts and an impressive list of 160 Spanish great-values, wines have made of La Vinateria del Call  a must-visit  place in Barcelona for more than 30 years.

It was in 1835 -in the most typical street of the Gothic Quarter, close to Ramblas in Barcelona- when the Bofarull family opened one of the most charismatic restaurants in town known by the name of Can Bofarull. Over time, one of its most famous dishes ended up by renaming the restaurant as Los Caracoles. Ever since then, four generations of the family Bofarull have kept the excellent level of a popular and high quality cuisine.

 

Its well-earned fame is known all over the world, and has become being one of the must for anyone visiting our city, as well as a hangout for prominent personalities from the arts, entertainment, politics and the world of finances, who feel attracted not only by the great culinary pleasure, but for the charm of its numerous corners full of history. All their work has been rewarded with, not only the affection of the people, but with a Medal for Merit in Tourism.

L'Ã’stia  Plaza de la Barceloneta, 1-3  08003 - Barcelona

This restaurant belongs to the third generation of a family of tavern keepers, A restaurant that in the 20s was already popular in La Barceloneta (a small district of fishermen) for or its fantastic tapas, and which has resurged with an interesting proposal that honors the more traditional tapas, with specialties from all over the Spanish territory. The space has been designed by Estrella Salietti and is simply brilliant.  

Dishes include: Iberian Serrano ham croquettes. Salmorejo (a gazpacho-like preparation)  with crispy Iberico ham slices. Patatas bravas (deep-fried potatoes dressed with a pungent sauce) . Fried fish. Oxtail burger. Marinated clams. Bacalao a la LLauna (Cod with Santa Pau beans). Potato, fried egg and foie. Tuna tartare on avocado and salmon roes. Steak tartare with parmesan cheese.

The restaurant Mariscco Reial can be found in the Plaça Reial, right in the core of the Gothic Quarter, in a "renascent" building (a former taxidermist shop). This building was erected in 1850, and  in former days was the Grand Café Espanyol and then housed both the Pedagogical Museum of Natural Sciences and a taxidermy workshop; this latter was frequented by people from the world of art and culture,  such as Joan Miró, Ava Gardner, Mario Cabré (who had a bull's head stuffed, a bull he had dedicated to Ava Gardner), Salvador Dalí (this is where he had a tiger stuffed,  and used to buy ants for his  pictures, and he once had a large rhinoceros stuffed, probably as an inspiration  of the painting "rhinoceros dressed in lace"  from 1956).

Moncho's is a group of restaurants that offers a broad interpretation of a traditional cuisine based on fish and seafood that is flown directly from fishing markets. This group of restaurants was created by Moncho Neira, and it offers a different interpretation of the traditional Spanish cuisine, and with a clear penchant for seafood quality. Moncho Neira begins his business activity in the restaurant called Botafumeiro in 1975, a meeting place for those lovers of the good cuisine culture, which is the flagship of the group and a worldwide reference of the haute cuisine.

It is indeed a very original, and avant-garde restaurant that has the world of wine as leitmotiv! It features a tapas bar design, with a single dining room with two large tables and a space reserved for tastings. It offers an updated traditional and a very impressive wine list.  

A la carte prices: from 40 € to 72 €; with a very attractive selection of wines.
